In tune with 'Mickey's Music Festival'

The mouse that rocks visits Nassau Coliseum

Mickey Mouse and his crew, along with some special friends, have hit the road to rock and roll with their fans in a new concert experience, Disney Live’s “Mickey’s Music Festival.” Mickey and his best buddies are joined by the stars of “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin” and “Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story” for a spirited jam session that shakes up the stage at Nassau Coliseum on Wednesday, April 3.
Mickey and his pals sing everyone’s Disney favorites remixed to reflect the hottest sounds of today – from hip hop and country, to reggae, rock, and more. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy make up the main band, assisted by Ariel, Jasmine, Woody, Buzz, and other Disney characters who join in this epic jam session.
“One song can touch millions of people around the world,” said Feld Entertainment’s Producer and CEO Kenneth Feld. “In Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival we are celebrating with the Disney characters to a soundtrack of the latest sounds and chart-topping hits. We want our guests to walk away with lasting memories and singing these unforgettable melodies long after they leave the show.”
It all begins with audiences watching a state-of-the-art video projection of the frenzy backstage that spills onto the stage as Mickey welcomes guests to his concert tour. Soon thereafter, the audience is transported to a new world of hip hop beats, dizzying acrobatics, flying carpets and magical transformations with Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie. Then underwater, the crowd will meet up with Ariel, Sebastian and their nautical pals to groove to a reggae rhythm. And, everyone will stomp to the beat as Woody, Buzz and Jessie teach the audience how to boogie rodeo-style.
Nothing is more timeless than Disney’s animated films – and those beloved characters who never cease to enchant families are all here: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Ariel, Sebastian, Jasmine, Aladdin, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie – and even that wicked Ursula shows up. They’ll have everyone singing along as they perform hits from their classic films in a way not heard before, in what amounts to musical synopsis of each film.
