Is there a good choice for Congress?

To the Editor:

About the local Congressional elections for the 4th District, there are two candidates for the job. One has had the job for years. I’ve yet to ever hear from or about what she has done or wants to do. I wrote her about the new health plan and its effect on the Catholic Church. After a long wait, the response was a form letter, not an answer.

She is no Peter King and can be accused of nothing. We are not well served.

The competitor is a multi-year member of the Nassau County Legislature. He keeps us in touch annually, with every postcard showing his picture and little of substance. Nothing is said about county debt, the police crime lab scandal, the $7.7 million payout because of incompetence, the $147,000 per year police clerk that stole baby food. Is there no accountability?

What is his job? Does he serve the people? Is he just a rubber stamp for his party? What can we expect in the future? It is hoped other districts will be better served.
