Henry Waldinger Library hosts month long exhibit

Isabella Dombrosky, 6, made a wedding scene titled “The Kiss.” She’s been building with LEGO’s since she was 1, and shares hers with her brother “sometimes.”
Kayden Lambert, 8, spent four hours making his “Orange Fire Station.” He builds with LEGO’s every day, he said, and is very experienced. He has a particular interest in firehouses with helicopters on top.
Kevin Cayotopa, 10, created “The Battle for Ninja City” and “The Overlord.”
ThaiBinh Pellicci, 8, displayed his “LEGO Robot.” He’s been using LEGO’s since he was 2 years old. His favorite type is Chima LEGO’s.
The Henry Waldinger Memorial Library is hosting its annual exhibit of local kids’ LEGO projects, to run until January 29.
“Some of them don’t understand the concept that they won’t have their LEGO’s for that time,” Eng said with a chuckle.
The exhibit is an almost two-decades-old tradition at the library, Eng said, as LEGO’s are one of the most popular activities children enjoy in their spare time — away from a computer, that is.
“It gives them a sense of satisfaction that they created something,” she said.
Participants will receive certificates at a small ceremony at the end of the month, after which they’ll get their LEGO’s back.
