Little League wraps up season in style

Posted

Opening day ceremonies were rained out this year for the Valley Stream Little League, so this year’s trophy day was a bit more festive.

The Little League marks the end of its spring season every year by gathering players one last time for an awards presentation. No matter how their team did, every child is a winner and gets to take home a trophy.

But rather than putting that trophy on the mantle right away, Little Leaguers got to have a few hours of fun at Firemen’s Field. This year’s closing ceremonies featured a dunk tank — in which many coaches and players fell victim to on-target throws — a castle bounce, inflatable obstacle course and pitching station. For snacks, there was cotton candy, hot dogs and popcorn.
