Long Beach Jazz Festival
Jazz can be heard all weekend long in varied venues in the City by the Sea. Some 60 world-class musicians keep those tunes going as the Jazz Festival celebrates its eighth of year of free performances. Special guests include Omar Hakim, Bakithi Kumalo, Edmar Castaneda, Al Fox, and Oz Noy, along with festival producer Steve Adelson and his Chapman Stick, among others.

Beyond The Fringe
The region’s leading avant garde artists gather this weekend for the Second Long Island Fringe Festival at Tilles Center.Experience cutting edge dance, music, theater, performance poetry and visual artistry in a celebration of “The Science of Fringematics.” Performances feature programs by Dance Visions, Circle of Dance Repertory Company and Just Left of Center Collective, along with film screenings from the Long Island International Film Expo, and much more.

Festival By The Sea
Enjoy the first weekend of fall at the Town of Hempstead’s annual beachside extravaganza. The festival features concert bands, craft and novelty vendors, eating contests, and tasty treats, and more. The many activities for kids include puppet shows, clowns, pony rides, a petting zoo, Hofstra Pride basketball clinics, and more. Guests can stroll the boardwalk to "dig" the sand castle contest or "race" into Sunday's Biathlon You can also satisfy your "appetite" for fun by getting a "taste" of the Clam and Rib Eating Contests.
