Man arrested after series of robberies

A West Hempstead man was arrested and charged in connection with a spree of burglaries in Valley Stream and surrounding areas. Carl Esposito, 58, allegedly robbed six stores in Decemeber, according to Nassau County police. His latest attempt was at Katy Nails in Valley Stream, where he threw a rock at the glass front door. However, after failing to break into the shop, Esposito fled the scene in a previously stolen 2014 Jeep.

Police took him into custody, and he  is scheduled to be arrainged in the First District Court in Hempstead. Esposito was previously arrested 38 times with 36 convictions. He was last arrested on Feb. 5 for burglary, released without bail and fitted with an ankle bracelet by Nassau County Probation.
