Man in wig robs Valley Stream eatery

A Valley Stream restaurant was robbed at gun point late Saturday night. According to police, a man entered the Ay Caramba Restaurant on West Merrick Road at 9:20 p.m. on Aug. 14 and announced the robber.

Police say the robber was wearing a black a curly wig. He reported yelled at employees to get down while keeping his hand on a gun tucked inside his waistband. The robber then reached over the counter, opened the register and took an undetermined amount of cash, before fleeing.

In addition to the wig, the suspect is described as a black male wearing dark pants, a dark shirt, dark baseball cap and sunglasses. He was seen fleeing westbound on Merrick Road, then headed north at Hook Creek Boulevard.
