Man killed on Southern State

A Brooklyn man was killed Monday when the motorcycle he was driving struck a median on the Southern State Parkway west of exit 13 at 1:38 p.m.
Fayyaz Amir, 23, was ejected onto the roadway after he failed to negotiate a curve in the westbound lanes and his 2008 Yamaha motorcycle struck a cement median on the right shoulder, according to State Police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The parkway was closed for about two hours while the crash was investigated.
