Veterans Day ceremony

Valley Stream will honor its heroes with a Veteran’s Day ceremony on Nov. 11 at noon. The event will take place at the gazebo in Arthur J. Hendrickson Park.

Thanksgiving baking class

Just in time for Turkey Day, a cooking coach will be providing lessons at the Elmont Memorial Library on Nov. 16 at 12:30 p.m. The “Everything but the Turkey” event will help participants learn how to make classic stuffing, a broccoli cornbread casserole and homemade cranberry chutney for Thanksgiving. Registration is required at the library.

Computer class

The Henry Waldinger Memorial Library will be holding three separate computer classes for adults and teenagers in the children’s room on Nov. 12. At 10 a.m., participants will be taught PowerPoint basics. There is a class teaching Microsoft Word basics at 11 a.m. and a session where participants learn Microsoft Excel basics at noon. Registration is required for all at the adult reference desk.
