The Valley Stream Central High School District Board of Education elected new officers, introduced new officials, and appointed new administrators at its annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday night.

Jeanne Greco-Jacobs was voted this year’s president of the board, replacing Ken Cummings. Anthony Iadevaio was named vice president, and Valley Stream District 24 board member Donna LaRocco joined the board, replacing Ian Wraith.

Dr. Tracey Nekulak was promoted to assistant superintendent for personnel and administration by an 8-1 vote. Bill Stris was the lone board member to say no, recommending the position be eliminated. Nekulak had previously served for six years at the district’s director of instruction, funded programs and grants.

The new district treasurer is Ashok Kirpalani. Syntax Communications will take over the public relations for the district, following the abolishment of the district’s public informational officer position last month.
