The Valley Stream Central High School District will hold its annual Residency Advisory Committee meeting on Monday, Nov. 23 at 8:30 a.m. in the District Office Board Room, at 1 Kent Road.

All interested community members are invited to attend. Key participants will include administrators from each of the elementary districts, as well as Board of Education members and village representatives.

The district works in partnership with town and village officials to identify any cases of students attending the community’s public schools who reside in illegal apartments or do not hold residence within the district boundaries.

“Our priority is providing students in the district with the highest quality education possible and offering opportunities that will help them achieve success,” said Superintendent Bill Heidenreich. “In adhering to our commitments and goals, it is important to ensure that we abide by our residency policies. In doing so, we are protecting our taxpayers’ interests and ensuring that our resources are being delivered fairly to those who are entitled.”

To report suspected illegal attendance, call the Residency Hotline at (516) 872-5677. Anyone can anonymously report suspicion that a student is illegally attending school at Central, North and South high schools, Memorial Junior High School or in Districts 13 or 24.
