Scavenger hunt winners receive prizes

The Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce presented prizes to the winners of its first scavenger hunt on Monday night at Sip This. The hunt was held from April 22-28 throughout Valley Stream. Winners were chosen based on who completed the most accurate list in the fastest amount of time.

The first place winners were Jennifer and James Borzumato and Jordan Woo, named the Sherlock Holmes team. They received a $100 gift card to the Green Acres Mall, a $50 gift card to Michael’s and a $40 gift card to Sip This.

Second place went to the Greatstone Dragons team, made up of Alyssa Jovellanos and Timothy Camacho. They were awarded $50 to the mall, $25 to Michael’s and $20 to Sip This.

Third-prize was $25 to the mall, $10 to Sip This and a gift basket from NEFCU. The winners were Daisy Khan and Mary Ross, a.k.a. the Rocket Women.

The Chamber of Commerce also made donations to local organizations chosen by the winners. Representing the Chamber on Monday were President Debbi Gyulay and board member David Sabatino.
