Shots fired in Valley Stream, no injuries reported

Police are investigating a shooting in Valley Stream near Village Hall early Tuesday morning, and are seeking a red or orange Dodge Challenger that was involved in the incident.

According to Nassau County Police, 5th Precinct officers responded to a call of shots fired near North Central and West Jamaica avenues at about 12:15 a.m. on Sept. 27. Officers found multiple bullet casings nearby.

A witness at the scene stated that he observed a dark-colored Nissan Exterra being followed by a Dodge Challenger. A person in the Dodge fired multiple gun shots at the other vehicle, according to police. The vehicles were last scene turning onto Sunrise Highway, the Exterra heading east and the Dodge heading west.

No injuries were reported and there was no further description of the vehicles. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS.
