Students at the Wheeler Avenue School created and decorated green light-bulb-shaped cutouts for Walmart’s Greenlight a Vet campaign, which encouraged citizens to display a green light bulb in a visible location on Veterans Day to draw attention to the challenges veterans face after their service ends.
Green light bulbs were given to older students to display at their homes, and the younger students’ cutouts were displayed in their classroom windows.
The activity was sponsored by the school’s PTA.
