Suspects hit banks in Valley Stream, Plainview

Police seeking two women

The Roslyn Savings Bank in Valley Stream was robbed Saturday morning. Police are searching for two suspects.

According to police, two women entered the bank at 75 N. Central Ave. on Sept. 11 at 9:12 a.m. Each approached a separate teller. One of the women passed a note to a teller demanding cash.

Both subjects then fled with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects are described as two black women wearing bobbed-style wigs, sunglasses and gray hooded sweatshirts. The first suspect is about 5-foot-9 and was wearing yellow dish gloves. The second suspect is about 5-foot-6.

Two women matching their description are also believed to be responsible for the robbery of a Roslyn Savings Bank in Plainview at about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. In that robbery, both suspects also approached different tellers, with one presenting a note.

There was no weapon used in either robbery and no one was injured. A helicopter was seen circling over Valley Stream Saturday morning.
