Valley Stream Girl Scouts Association leader Liz Stevens was recognized by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County recently for “presenting a positive role model, creating awareness in the community and creating innovative programming for today’s Girl Scouts,” according to the GSNC.

Stevens received the County Spirit Award at an annual ceremony to honor adults within the organization. She was credited with increasing her association’s membership and number of events since 2014, and increasing the group’s visibility in the community.

Stevens’s daughter, Alexa, is an active Girl Scout and one of the GSNC’s top cookie sellers.
