Valley Stream hospital hosts preparedness fair

Posted

Long Island Jewish Valley Stream hosted a safety and emergency management fair last week to inform the community how the hospital is prepared for situations that could potentially occur in the region.

Members of the Nassau County Police Department, American Red Cross and the Valley Stream Fire Department informed attendees about hand hygiene, evacuation techniques, active shooter tips.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said the organizer hoped next year’s fair would be outdoors to allow first responders to bring their trucks.
