Valley Stream hosts pumpkin painting contest

The Valley Stream Recreation Department hosted its fourth annual pumpkin painting contest last Saturday morning at Hendrickson Park. About 100 children participated in two groups, ages 5-8 and 9-12.

Children were provided with the pumpkins, paint and brushes. They were able to take their finished piece of pumpkin art home. And so they wouldn’t get their clothes dirty, the Chamber of Commerce and Valley Stream Youth Council gave each child with a free T-shirt.
