Valley Stream schools closed Thursday

Valley Stream's public schools will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 13 because of the winter storm. This affects all four districts.

After initially announcing a delay, the superintendents decided early Thursday morning to close schools because of the hazardous road conditions. This is the third snow day used by the schools so far. There are four built into the school calendar.

All other activities are canceled including kindergarten registration at the Robert W. Carbonaro School in District 24.

The storm is expected to continue into early Friday morning, dropping anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow on Valley Stream.
