Valley Stream schools delayed Friday

The start of Valley Stream public schools will be delayed on Friday, Feb. 14.

District 24, District 30 and Central High School District schools will open two hours late. In District 13, schools will operate on a 90-minute delay.

The start times in District 13 will be 9:30 for the Willow Road School, 9:55 for the James A. Dever School and 10:20 a.m. for the Howell Road and Wheeler Avenue schools.

District 30 schools start at 10:15 a.m. Schools in District 24 and the High School District will open at 10 a.m.

The delays are due to the latest winter storm, which is expected to drop more snow on the region overnight. Schools were closed on Thursday.

Holy Name of Mary School will open at its normal time on Friday. Students are expected to report to class at 8:15 a.m.
