VSFD march in local St. Patrick’s Parade

Posted

For the first time in three years, “the Parade that Shares and Cares” returned to the streets of Rockville Centre last Saturday.

The Valley Stream Volunteer Fire Department took part in Rockville Centre’s long-awaited annual St. Patrick’s Parade, which started at Maple Avenue and Long Beach Road, proceeded to the reviewing stand at St. Agnes Cathedral, and finished on Washington Street.

The Fire Chiefs, along with Engine 341 and Engine 344, attended with members from all companies marching together in celebration. Valley Stream firefighters marched in force with other nearby departments including the Elmont Fire Department, Woodmere Volunteer Fire Department, Inwood Fire Department, and Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department.

After the parade, the VSFD gave a shout-out to the Nassau County Firefighters Pipes & Drums band on their Facebook page, thanking them “for leading our contingent through the parade.”
