Congregation Beth Tikvah Hebrew School in Wantagh recently celebrated Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Hebrew School teachers Elita Portnoy, standing left, and Henry Arkin, seated center, and children prepared freshly baked traditional round challah breads, dipped apples in honey for a sweet good year, and made a heartwarming toast for a healthy, blessed, joyous and peaceful New Year.
