Seaford Chamber celebrates Christmas in July

On July 16, the Seaford Chamber of Commerce hosted a “Christmas in July” party at the Seaford train station. The event was exactly what it sounds like – winter holiday-themed with a summer twist. In attendance were Nassau County Legislator Steve Rhoads and Town of Hempstead Councilman Christopher Carini, who were all smiles the whole time.

Chamber President Margaret Grub and Vice President Donna Jebaily organized the event, with help from resident Celia Carlson.

The band “T-Minus Ten” performed at the event, playing both summer-related and holiday-related songs. Up to 40 vendors also attended, and sold handcrafted items and clothing in bags. A number of restaurants send food trucks, including Iron Chef Mobile, B Bistro, Mama’s Cuban, Extreme Empanadas, Crepes & Bakes, and Authentic Greek. For the kids in attendance, there was a Metrocade game truck, a Gaga pit, complimentary face painting, and a holiday craft table.

Also in attendance – and dressed down only slightly for July as opposed to December – was Santa Claus.
