Wantagh, Seaford, Levittown Budgets Pass

Sturniolo, Cucci win unopposed elections, while Smith replaces Porrazzo in Levittown.

The Wantagh, Seaford and Levittown School budgets passed with flying colors Tuesday.

In Wantagh, of 1,880 that voted, 1,427 (75.9 percent) said yes. In Seaford, of 2,019 that casted ballots, 1,427 (70.7 percent) pushed it forward. In Levittown, of 2,871 that voted, 1,965 (68.4 percent) were in favor.

There were two uncontested seats in Wantagh, with Michael Cucci being re-elected and Ann-Marie Sturniolo returning to the board of education after a multi-year break. Seaford's two seats went to Brian Fagan and Stacie Stark. In Levittown, incumbents Michael Pappas and Frank Ward were re-elected, and newcomer Karen Quionones-Smith was elected to replace Peter Porrazzo.

There were propositions on the dockets for both Levittown and Seaford. The Levittown BOE asked voters to use the capital reserve, while Seaford had an advisory vote regarding the Veterans Tax Exemption and an item asking to use the repair reserve fund. All propositions passed in flying colors.

  2. Ann Marie Sturniolo: 1,240

Seaford

  1. Stacie Stark: 1,235
  2. Brian Fagan: 1,012
  3. Patrick Martz: 787

Levittown

  1. Michael Pappas: 1,631
  2. Karen Smith: 1,625
  3. Frank Ward: 1,580
  4. Maryanne Adrian: 1,470
  5. Peter Porrazzo: 1,419
