To celebrate the official opening of the new library-media center at the Chesnut Street School in West Hempstead, district administration, Board of Education members, school staff and students gathered on Dec. 8 for a ribbon-cutting.
The new center has an expanded the library’s extensive collection of hard-cover books and its use of technology and equipment, adding an interactive white board, videoconferencing equipment and iTouches and iPads.
“The center builds a strong foundation of literacy, learning and technology for students as their educational journey is launched in our district,” said Assistant Superintendent Ann Peluso.
