Partly Cloudy and Breezy Firefighters battle blaze at Lakeview Church

Firefighters battled an early morning blaze on March 28 that caused extensive damage to a church on Jefferson Avenue in Lakeview.
Lakeview firefighters responded to a fire at the Church of God in Christ Jesus of the Apostles' Faith around 4:00 a.m., and faced heavy smoke and fire, as well as flames pushing out the back windows of the church.
Firefighters from West Hempstead, Malverne, Rockville Centre and Franklin Square fire departments assisted. Nassau County Fire Marshals were called to the scene, and are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
