Kids throughout the country started their first day of school last week and who knew they’d be excited about it?
In West Hempstead, the children were all smiles, whether returning to school or going for the first time.
Students arrived at the George Washington Elementary School for the first time since its annex caught fire. The portable building, which housed three first-grade classrooms, sustained extensive damage last month after two teenagers playing with fire set it ablaze.
