Stepping Back In Time

Songs of early America
Join Linda Russell on a musical journey when the balladeer presents “In the Good Old Colony Days: Songs of Early America,” at historic Rock Hall. This program explores the many ways music was part of life in the Colonial and
Revolutionary War era. The pioneers and patriots come to life as Russell sings and shares stories of their hardships, accompanied by the hammered and mountain dulcimers, guitar and pennywhistle. For 30 years, Russell has explored America’s past through song, and has recorded eight albums of traditional and historic music. Her rich voice illuminates America’s heritage through patriotic anthems, broadsides, hymns, and dance tunes.
Sunday, April 25, 1:30 p.m. Admission free, but space is limited. Reservations required. Rock Hall Museum, 199 Broadway, Lawrence. (516) 239-1157.
