Cops: suspect in custody for West Hempstead robbery

A West Hempstead dry cleaning company was robbed Monday by a man with a handgun, and police arrested a 17-year-old man Oct. 25 for the robbery.
Nassau County police said the robbery happened on Monday, Oct. 23 at 4:46 p.m. at the Millennium Dry Cleaners at 323 Hempstead Turnpike. The suspect walked behind the counter and showed a handgun while demanding cash, police said.
There were two employees present and no customers, police said. No injuries were reported.
The teen was charged with robbery and was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, Oct. 26 in First District Court.
