The Long Island Breakfast Club is back with new ingredients

Posted

The Long Island Breakfast Club, which features members from both Nassau and Suffolk counties, officially kicked off their relaunch on June 2. Over 20 people that included members of the organization and local elected leaders attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Nelson Veliz’s Deli & a Hole Lot More in Garden City.
Founded in 2006, the organization — which includes several residents from West Hempstead — provides employment and career counseling, workshops, interviewing classes and referrals, among other assistance, to help those seeking employment after losing jobs in middle age. The club also hosts meetings each month, which include sessions at which attendees can discuss job interviews and listen to motivational speeches.
Now that the Breakfast Club has officially relaunched, members of the organization hope that they can continue to empower people that are seeking jobs. For more information on the club, go to www.longislandbreakfastclub.org.
