Groundhog Day with Malverne Mel
Visit Chester A. Reese Veterans Memorial Park in Malverne for the village’s annual Groundhog Day with Malverne Mel, on Friday, Feb. 2, at 7 a.m. As part of the village’s tradition, Malverne Mel will predict and early spring or six more weeks of winter. Musical exploration of Black History Month
The Lakeview Public Library will celebrate Black History Month with a special musical performance, on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 1 to 2 p.m. Victor Marshall, leader of the Marshall Hand & Drum Ensemble will take his audience on a musical exploration of the migration of African rhythmic influences throughout the U.S., spanning from the 15th century to the 21st century. Lunar New Year
Celebrating the Year of the Dog

A Man for All Times
Take a vibrant, passionate journey through the 95 years of W.E.B. Du Bois’ tumultuous life and times, in a staging of “W.E.B. Du Bois: A Man for all Times.
