Immersion Dance Company
The all-female troupe visits Tilles Center with its original full-length program, Transcending Roads. This performance takes the audience on a path of self-recognition and realization. A series of dances in various modern styles, accompanied by the original live music of Chris Benvegna and Charlie Held, depict a journey of growth; including the good, the bad, and all that falls in between. Emotion, imagery, patterns, and reason are explored through movement and
concept.
Saturday, Sept. 12, 8 p.m. $18, $13 students and seniors. A reception follows the performance. Tilles Center for the Performing Arts , C.W .Post Campus, 720 Northern Blvd., Greenvale.

“Migrating Birds” Nature Walk
September is great time for bird watching since many species pass through the area as they start their fall migration. Wander through Muttontown Preserve with a naturalist to see some of the birds in action, including the Cedar Waxwing, Great Horned Owl, Lawrence's Warbler, and Scarlet Tanager. A bird bander is also on hand to give a demonstration of the procedure used to help track birds through their travels.
