West Hempstead pool hall a satellite site for world tour

As part of its World Series of Beer Pong Satellite Tournaments, the World Beer Pong Tour will host two tournaments at Raxx Pool Room in West Hempstead on Thursdays, Dec. 2 and 9, at 9 p.m.

One team will go to Las Vegas for a national $65,000 tournament. First place teams receive four nights in Las Vegas, plus entry into the World Series of Beer Pong in Las Vegas, which will be held from Jan. 1 to 5.

Register for local events, at a cost of $20 per person, at worldpongtour.com or call (914) 826-6852. The tournament is pool play format where each team plays four games of pong. The top teams advance to a single elimination bracket and the top team gets the four-night stay in Las Vegas and entry into the World Series of Beer Pong. The first-place team in Las Vegas wins $50,000.
