A ‘De-Lovely’ performance

The audience got a kick out of the Baldwin High School production of “Anything Goes” during the weekend of Nov. 19.

The Cole Porter classic took on a new twist with Baldwin’s production, which included construction of a massive two-level set that represented the traditional cruise ship in the show. The stage crew had been working since January to design and build the ship.

But once it was complete, it provided the cast the perfect setting for singing such classics as “You’re the Top,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “It’s De-Lovely,” and, of course the title song, “Anything Goes.”

The Baldwin production starred Audrey Wilson as nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, while senior Tyler Ortiz and sophomore Daelynn Jorif played stowaway Billy Crocker and his dream girl, heiress Hope Harcourt. Meanwhile, senior Amanda Pietrera displayed her charms as Erma Latour, while Luca Vukelic generated laughs as Moonface Martin.
