Baldwin High School named “No Place for Hate”

For the second consecutive year, Baldwin High School has been officially designated a No Place for Hate School from the Anti-Defamation League for its commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

“We are very proud to have earned this designation for the second year in a row,” said Dr. Neil Testa, principal of Baldwin High School.

“Our participation in this program is more important than ever, so we can not only promote inclusivity, acceptance, and love, but also to provide students the opportunity to lead the change they wish to see in the world.”

No Place for Hate is designed to create inclusive school communities by promoting unity and respect, and empowering schools to reduce bullying, name-calling and other expressions of bias.

In compliance with the New York State Dignity Act, the No Place for Hate initiative offers schools the opportunity to be recognized for their staff development and student training related to bullying, harassment and discrimination.

Schools that fulfill all requirements created by the Anti-Defamation League receive recognition and a personalized No Place for Hate banner at the end of the school year and join the growing list of other participating schools across New York and New Jersey.

Throughout the school year, Baldwin High School students participated in various activities that aligned with The Anti-Defamation League’s No Place for Hate initiative. These included campaigns centered on “Creating a Culture of Care,” healthy eating and exercising, mindfulness, as well as anti-bullying.

The high school will receive the official “No Place for Hate School” banner over the summer to display in the Commons.
