Baldwin vendors, residents hold 'Shopping for a Cure' fundraiser

Nearly $3,000 raised for the American Cancer Society

The "Shopping for a Cure" fundraiser, held April 25, raised nearly $3,000 for the American Cancer Society. The event was held at St. Christopher's Church, and organized by the Conlan family of Baldwin, which goes by the moniker "Prayers for Patrick" at Relay for Life events.

Over 25 local vendors set up tables at the event, selling everything from handmade jewelry and dog treats to specialty food baskets and skin care products. All proceeds were donated to the American Cancer Society.

Saturday, May 15

Prayers 4 Patrick will hold a Family Fun Picnic at Baldwin Park on Saturday, May 15 from 1-5 p.m., with all proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Entertainment will include live music by the G String Band, food from Trader Joe's, face-painting, arts and crafts, temporary tattoos, and raffles. Also scheduled to be in attendance are local massage therapists and chiropractors.

Rain date is May 16 (same hours).
