A Farmingdale State sophomore from Baldwin recorded her first career triple-double as the women’s basketball team earned a 78-41 conference victory at Yeshiva.
Guard Tyra Harrison finished the Jan. 20 game with 27 points, 11 assists and 13 steals, a school record.
FSC led 33-20 with 3:03 left in the half, before treys by Harrison and junior guard Charnae Jenkins of Rockville Centre, along with a layup by Chelsea May of Baldwin, gave the Rams a 21-point advantage at 41-20. Farmingdale State took a 41-22 lead into halftime as Harrison led all scorers with 14 points, six assists and five steals.
By the fourth, the Rams led by 32 and outscored the Maccabees 12-7 in the final quarter as they earned the 78-41 road victory.
Harrison’s 13 steals surpassed the previous school record of 12 set by Kimberly Blakney in 2009. With 11 assists, Harrison is now tied for third place all-time at Farmingdale State.
