Broken headlight leads to alleged scammers arrest

1st Squad Detective Budimlic reports that on April 12, a routine traffic stop to check on a defective headlight of a 2007 Nissan Altima led to the arrest of the three occupants on Cheshire Drive. The officer conducting the traffic stop found a loaded semi-automatic pistol, various credit and debits cards and scanning devices after further investigation.

The driver, Jacob Nolen, 18, of Detroit, Michigan, Jordan Lopez, 19, of Baldwin and a 16-year-old juvenile were all placed under arrest after the discovery. All three defendants are charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminal possession of a firearm. Additionally, Nolen was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree, criminal possession of forgery devices and multiple vehicle and traffic law infractions.

The 16-year-old was arraigned at First District Court on Wednesday, April 13, and defendants Jacob Matthew Nolen and Jordan Lopez were arraigned on April 14.
