A group of students from Lucie B’s Jump N Fun — a Baldwin-based jump-rope studio — will appear on national television on June 17. The girls, along with their instructor, Lucie Bisseruth, top left in photo, are scheduled to appear as (what else?) jump-rope enthusiasts on CBS’s police procedural “NYC 22.”

The episode featuring students Desire Ford, Chelcie Crutch, Raven Gray and Genesis Miller is entitled “The Block Party,” and the Jump N Fun crew earned the opportunity to appear when the show’s producers researched local jump-rope talent and invited them for an audition.

“They found us on the Internet, defined their parameters and asked us to come in for auditions,” said instructor Dion Tulloch, who has helped coordinate Jump N Fun appearances in commercials for Coca Cola and Metro PCS. “Once we proved our skills, we were called in for the shoot.”

While the ropers who will appear on “NYC 22” received what Tulloch characterized as “substantial checks from the company producing the series,” he was careful to add that theexperience as a whole was what the girls found most rewarding. He quoted the elated Miller, who said of the adventure, “What? I get to do something I love, be on TV, and get paid? Wow!”
