Meekins retains Sani2 seat

Dennis Meekins, a Sanitary District 2 commissioner since 1998, held on to his post in last week’s election, collecting 561 of 784 total votes and earning another five-year term. Meekins’s opponents, James Major and Ralph Rose, tallied 187 and 36 votes, respectively.

Sani2 serves Baldwin, Roosevelt, Uniondale, Freeport and parts of Rockville Centre and South Hempstead.
