Long Island International Film Expo
Bellmore rolls out the red carpet for the latest installment of the Long Island International Film Expo. The festival celebrates its 15th season with a varied slate of 142 films, including many contributions from local filmmakers. Long Beach’s Stephen Marro shows his first feature film, the action-comedy “Broadway’s Finest,” in the prestigious opening night block on Friday night, along with other local films represented that night. There’s much to choose from throughout the week-long festival, including drama, comedy, documentaries, shorts, and even movies for the kids this year.
Thursday through Wednesday, July 12-19. Gold Pass $65, Day Pass $25, Screening Pass $10. Closing Night tickets are $55 ($45 Gold Pass Holders). Bellmore Movies, 222 Pettit Ave., Bellmore. Stepping Back In Time

19th Century Dancing
Experience summer recreation the way of 19th century Long Islanders: Listen to the tunes of the fiddle and dance to the calls of the local dance master. That tradition remains alive at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, where the Village Dance Ensemble performs in the Noon Inn PicNic Grove. The dancers, all in traditional attire, demonstrate the Jefferson and Liberty, the Lancer’s Quadrille, and Virginia Reel.

Hungrytown
Enjoy a summer concert surrounded by the beauty of Old Westbury Gardens this weekend. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and listen to Hungrytown – the husband-and-wife retro folk duo of Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson – who return to the Gardens for their eighth appearance with their signature blend of traditional folk and original compositions.
