The talented actors and actresses of South Side High School’s Performing Arts Department put on a three-night showing of “Titanic the Musical” from April 19 to 21, as hundreds of parents, fellow students and other community members filled the seats to watch the spring spectacle.
The winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book of a Musical, “Titanic” portrays the historical figures who were on the ship’s ill-fated maiden voyage I 1912. It is a tale of the marvels of human ingenuity and the dangers of hubris, but ultimately, proved an uplifting story of the endurance of the human spirit.
The production featured a cast of 60 actors and singers and an additional 40 students in the orchestra and stage crew.
