Inspirational Gospel Music

On Sunday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. at the Long Beach Public Library, at 111 W. Park Ave., the Christian Light Missionary Baptist Church Music Department will present its annual Black History Month concert under the direction of Minister of Music Michael Daniel. Pastor Isaac Melton will present the choirs consisting of the Male Chorus, the Youth Choir, the Sanctuary Choir and the J.J. Evans Mass Choir along with Laron West on the drums, A. Morton on the trumpet and L. Walker on the saxophone. The Generation Praise Dancers will also join the event.

Children’s Book Reading with Ama Yawson

On Friday, Feb. 16 at the Martin Luther King Center, at 615 Riverside Boulevard, join a children’s book reading of “Sunne’s Gift” with Ama Yawson at 7 p.m.

Eurasiaka Live

On Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Long Beach Public Library, at 111 W. Park Ave., join friends and neighbors for Eurasiaka Live. Eurasiaka is a trio consisting of Andrew Lamb, on woodwinds, Lloyd Haber, on percussion, and Shiquan Huang, on vocals. The musical concept of this group is based on the improvisation of European and African melodies and rhythms, blended with the vocals of Chinese folk songs.

There’s a ‘Mouse on the Move’

Young audiences can share an adventure with two curious mice who are ready to explore the world beyond their little mouse hole when “Mouse on the Move,” visits the Long Island Children’s Museum stage, during winter recess, Monday through Saturday, Feb. 19-24, also Wednesday, Feb. 28. They decide to go to the moon, since they believe it’s cat free and made of delicious cheese.
