The year is 1944 and military men are transiting through New York City on their way to duty overseas. Three sailors are looking to see the sights, find romance, and have a great night on the town, because after all, “New York, New York, it’s a helluva of a town.”

The Voysey Inheritance

See a witty portrait of a family in the midst of a surprisingly modern moral dilemma, in this David Mamet adaptation, being featured at Nassau Community College. For generations, the Voysey family has been cheating its clients. Edward, a junior partner who plans to take over the company from his aging father, is horrified when he discovers the embezzlement that has been keeping his relatives in the lap of luxury. As the risk of exposure looms larger, Edward comes to fully understand the consequences of his “inheritance.”
Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 29-31, 8 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 1, 3 p.m. $9, $7 seniors. Nassau Community College, 1 Education Dr., Garden City. (516) 572-7676.
