42nd Street
Shuffle off to 42nd Street when the legendary Tony Award-winning musical comes to life at Hofstra University, presented by The Gray Wig, Hofstra’s alumni theater group. Enjoy the timeless and inspiring tale of a small-town girl’s rise from chorus girl to Broadway star, with “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and “Lullaby of Broadway,” among other unforgettable songs.

Braille Awareness
Long Island Children’s Museum celebrates Braille Awareness Day when it honors the 200th birthday of Louis Braille. The Long Island Council of the Blind visits the museum to provide insights into the tools and materials used by the visually impaired. The afternoon features interactive games including a Braille version of UNO and Go Fish, tactile mazes, a Braille scavenger hunt, along with Braille story time.

Summer Outing

Scottish Games
With bagpipes, caber tossing, and highland dancing, the annual Scottish Games are always a summer favorite at Old Westbury Gardens. The Long Island Scottish Clan MacDuff, co-host of the event, offers plenty of action for all ages during this daylong festival. There are bagpipes galore, parades, dances, competitive games including caber tossing, kids’ games and more, along with Scottish treats to enjoy.
