When customers walk into Gennaro Jewelers on Bedford Avenue, they may notice a sign hung above the doorway that reads, “The growth of any business is nurtured one customer at a time.” Gary Hudes, the shop’s owner, said his staff lives by the mantra and similar sayings posted around the store, which is among the reasons the shop has been in business for 90 years. more

A gala retirement dinner was held recently in honor of Robin Karp, executive assistant to Town of Hempstead Councilman Gary Hudes, a Republican from Levittown. The celebration took place at the Sands in Lido Beach. Karp served on the Bellmore Chamber of Commerce and worked for 25 years in the Town of Hempstead, including the last 10 years for Hudes. more
