Danny Longo is a busy man again this fall serving as head coach for the men’s and women’s soccer teams at Molloy College. Each club is aiming to finish on the positive side of .500 after disappointing 2010 campaigns.

The Bellmore Kiwanis and Lions clubs co-hosted the 23rd annual Nassau County Strawberry Festival this past week. Residents from across the county traveled to the BOCES school on Jerusalem Avenue in North Bellmore to enjoy the festivities, which kicked off June 1.

When an accident or crime occurs in the Bellmores, John Scalesi can often be found on the scene. Scalesi, 54, a lifelong Bellmore resident and a Mepham High School graduate, has served his home community as a volunteer since he was young. He is active in the Bellmore Fire Department and the Kiwanis and Lions clubs, and he’s an honorary lifetime member of the North Bellmore Fire Department’s Company No. 2.
