Charged with attempted murder of an elderly Bellmore man and other violent crimes was Leonidas Cotsifas, 50, of Bethpage, who was arrested on Thursday afternoon. Cotsifas allegedly carried out a violent crime spree in the community, including striking a 71-year-old man on the head, critically injuring him, as well as burglarizing another home and attempting a carjacking, police said.
