Services for Frank Milano, who was killed in a crash on the Southern State Parkway on Dec. 13, were held last weekend at the Krauss Funeral Home in Franklin Square and St. Boniface Church in Elmont. The funeral took place at the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury on Dec. 17.

Bellmore resident, Merrick orthodontist dies at 73
On Nov. 7, my husband, Dr. Leonard (a.k.a. Len) Schreiber, lost his long and courageous battle against AML leukemia. His funeral service took place at Gutterman's Funeral Home in Rockville Centre, and his military burial was held at Wellwood Cemetery on Nov. 13. Since he was an Air Force veteran, taps was played and I was presented with the American flag that had draped his coffin. more

Community mourns the loss of pastor, activist
The Rev. Jodey Williams became pastor of Bellmore United Methodist Church in July 2008. It was her first appointment as a spiritual leader, but she had long ago committed herself to the church. Williams, 60, suffered from deteriorating health in recent years, but her death on the morning of July 24, of complications from a serious fall, came as a shock to all who knew and loved her, said her younger brother Wayne. more
