Former Lynbrook resident Margaret Kipp dies at 102

Former Lynbrook resident Margaret Helen (Dolan) Kipp died on Feb. 18 at the Laurels of Pender in Burgaw, N.C. She was 102.

Born on Sept.10, 1919, in the Bronx, Kipp was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (McManus) Dolan. She was the oldest of seven children.

Before moving to Wilmington in 1996, she lived in Lynbrook for 35 years. She loved her family dearly. She was a devout Catholic. As a parishioner of St Raymond Church in East Rockaway, she was involved in the Altar and Rosary Society and at Immaculate Conception Church in Wilmington, she was involved in the Catholic Daughters of America.

Kipp was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Lawrence V. Kipp; her parents; her five siblings, Patrick, Bernard, John and James Dolan and Kathleen O’Connell. She is survived by her sister, Anna Kurtz; her two children, Patricia M. Kipp, of Basking Ridge, N.J., and William L. Kipp (Jacqueline), of Glenmont, N.Y.; three grandchildren, William M. Kipp (Meghan), of Manorville, and Patrick L. Kipp, of Babylon, and Brian Mascaro (Cassondra), of Middleburg, N.Y.; three great grandchildren, Jackson Kipp and Luciano and Vittorio Mascaro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kipp was loved by many and her family said she will be greatly missed. Visitiation was scheduled on Feb. 27 at Andrews Valley Chapel in North Carolina. A funeral Mass was also scheduled for Feb. 28 at Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. John McGee officiating. Kipp will be buried at Calverton National Cemetery at a future date.
